Maria moved to Florida from Ohio when she was 21 years old. She attended St. Petersburg College where she earned both an Associate of Arts degree and an Associate of Science degree, before graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2015. She went on to the University of Cincinnati where she earned her Master of Science in 2019, becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Before joining Gulf Coast Pulmonary and Sleep, Maria was a volunteer EMT and firefighter and worked as a paramedic for ten years. Six of which were right here in Manatee County! She then moved on to work as a registered nurse at Doctor’s Hospital and then Blake Medical Center in the Emergency Department as a Critical Care Nurse.
She is a proud member of the Sarasota County Nurse Practitioners Association, Manatee County Nurse Practitioners Association, and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Maria enjoys the outdoors and is an avid runner. She challenges herself with an extensive variety of races including 5k’s, 10k’s, triathlons, marathons, and half Iron Mans contests. Her longest run was 62 miles and she even participated in a marathon in Rome, Italy. Maria also enjoys reading, watching baseball games, and spending time with her young daughter. In the summer, she and Mike are looking forward to growing their family and welcoming their second child.
